I have been running anxiety supports groups for about ten years now and have recently started a monthly support group at Bury Involvement Group. Here is a very useful clip-slide by Patrick Mckeown illustrating how breathing is affected during the anxiety state. I have read much of his literature and can say from experience that Buteyko breathing can be a very useful tool in overcoming (in particular) panic disorder.
This is fantastic read by a good friend of mine…free download as well! He has successfully applied Buddhist concepts to his own life to overcome anxiety. Read with an open mind and take what you want from it…very positive and inspiring.
This is an excellent book that fully explains the biological underpinnings of ‘neuroplasticity’ and how our brains change during recovery from anxiety and depressive disorders. The book fully gives weight to my own teachings and therapuetic principals.
